"In order to vote in Michigan you must be a state resident for at least 30 days prior to the election. Michigan allows same day voter registration.
Under Michigan law, convicted felons can vote upon completion of their prison or jail sentence.
Absentee voting is permitted in Michigan. All registered voters soon will be mailed an application to request an absentee ballot.
If you do not receive your application and wish to vote by absentee ballot, you should contact the Secretary of State’s Office.
Voting an absentee ballot from home is a safe is a safe, secure and accessible way to cast your ballot. It also makes polls less crowded and safer for election workers and voters who must vote in person or those who may need assistance voting.
