Report lays out plan for education reform in Michigan

Public Sector Consultants, a non-partisan public policy research firm in Lansing, has released a report offering financial recommendations and policy proposals to move Michigan forward. This comes on the heels of new State Superintendent Brian Whiston's goal of making Michigan one of the top 10 states in the next 10 years. 

Bridge magazine featured the report, "Study offers financial, policy road map for Michigan education reform," which concludes that Whiston's goal won't be met without changes in state funding and more cooperation among groups that have a stake in Michigan's public education. The analysis begins with the premise that when state funding levels dropped, so did student achievement levels. For more information click here:
